Just 75km from Melbourne, Arthurs Seat is a natural escape on the Mornington Peninsula. As well as the town of Arthurs Seat, the hill beside the town is known as Arthurs Seat and driving up the hill, there’s plenty of lookouts giving you views of the bay.
Murrays Lookout is one of the best - you can actually look out to the heads of Port Phillip Bay.
At the summit of the mountain there’s a lookout tower, parklands, and rather appropriately a seat.
Seawinds Garden has walking tracks, and views of Mount Martha and the Mornington Peninsula.
In fact, there’s a number of walking tracks and treks and we’d recommend the track to Kings Falls - it’s a relatively easy walk with boardwalk and a lookout, or you can go right down to the base of the falls.
If you’re after an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, a trip to Arthurs Seat makes an excellent weekend escape.
